Going Corporate (Styling PMS)
I have been working full-time in an architecture firm for about five months now. What do architects wear, you ask? Hmm, nothing very particular. Something nice and casual will do for regular days – these equate to days designing/detailing in front of a computer or those spent inspecting the site. For days with meetings with clients, it’s time to bring out the trust-me-I’m-an-architect clothing! Haha! That’s how we are in the office, at least. I’m not speaking for every firm out there. I’m just glad we don’t have a uniform.
So while the office allows employees to come to work in smart casual attire, it strategically located itself in one of the most corporate centers in Ortigas. That’s not very much a problem, of course. In fact, it’s the perfect opportunity to play around with office wear! I don’t want to go to work looking like a UP student slightly dressed up for a class presentation. I want to look and feel corporate without being restricted by the rules of corporate wear. It doesn’t have to be dull and dark for me. We all know corsets instantly give off a hint of sexiness BUT going all-out sexy is a no-no for office wear. I think the peplum skirt did the trick, it balances off the look making it more appropriate. I even liked the silhouette it created, coca-cola-but-not-really. Teehee.
I needed more covering so I went for a simple cardigan in the same pink hue. Well, If I’m going for something more formal, I’d put on a blazer with a nice, flattering cut – but I’m not. I’m an architect, not a lawyer. Kidding! Let’s just say I’m me.
To top everything off, I have put on a few chosen accessories. Certainly I don’t need a lot because each item is a statement piece on its own. I love the pop of color in the necklace, it breaks the monotony of the white – old rose outfit. Plus, all the golds make me look rich!
As I have said before, I can’t take Jen enough for the accessories. Everyone, everyone, SHOP PMS!
