THE GREEKS
I never knew December could be sooooo much fun in the corporate world – because I think we are boring like that, slaves and all. I’m kidding. (Please don’t fire me. Haha.)
I’ve been hearing about the office Christmas party ever since I started working in the company (so that would be way back May). Obviously it was a big deal – or maybe seniors are just scaring preparing mentally the new employees for the presentation they we have to come up with come December. It’s such a tradition in almost all offices, I think. Working in a corporate tower for months now, more than once had I overheard conversations in elevators about office parties and presentations. Protocol: New employees must perform. I am never a performer but for the spirit of Christmas and for fun, go lang ng go! I, along with other newbies, prepared ours for two weeks. We’d stay late after work to brainstorm and practice. Now figure out why I wasn’t blogging. Haha.
Aside from the presentation, we have costumes to prepare too. Now that’s where the fun comes in. I don’t go to costume parties, really, not even during Halloween BUT any opportunity to come up with an outfit is exciting. Especially that, our theme is *dundundun* GREEK MYTHOLOGY! Even though our first question was “how the hell can we relate that to Christmas”, a chance to dress up as gods and goddesses isn’t so bad. Greek Mythodology it is!
Umm, sorry for already writing an essay here. Now let me share some visuals:I love everyone’s costume. They all look great in pictures! 🙂
So guess who I decided to be. But, but don’t burst my bubble, okay? I’m Helen of Troy! I basically wore a white DIY-ed (not exactly) dress with gold accessories and a cape (even though Helen in the movie has a veil). The accessories were bought for me in Divisoria (where everything is cheap) and I spray painted them to achieve the same shade of gold. I was supposed to do a separate PROJECT HELEN post showing how I planned my costume but I’m an irresponsible blogger, so…
With college classmates, Paul (and a bunch of his hot pandesal) and Daryl!
Part of our presentation, the only part I’m willing to share – dance off of two talented dancers. Damn it, I’ll forever wish I can dance or even sing – just any talent, please!!
Best in costume finalists in our division. Yey!
We were asked to do some sort of catwalk for about a couple of times all throughout the program. With my five inch heels, baby I’m feelin’ it! Haha. The winners came from another division, though. They were dressed as mythological animals with names I can’t remember. Effort.
Now that was the goofy “calamansi” series! Did I say corporate people are boring? Uh, when? I can’t remember.
This final picture is the whole G&W Architects – now VisionArch – family. Awww. 🙂
