Is a trip to Baguio complete without at least a single meal at the famous 50’s Diner? Long waiting lines outside the restaurant say it isn’t.

It was recommended by a friend and by almost everybody on the internet so we tried. The diner is located at 92 Upper General Luna Road, Corner Brent Road, Baguio City.

The name pretty much sums up the interior. Expect to be welcomed by a 50’s diner feel brought about by B&W checkered floor tiles, decorated by framed pictures of 50’s celebrities walls, pink glowing lights and a jukebox in the corner that I’m unsure if still functional.

And the food? Well, I’ll let the photos do the talking. This will get redundant but because I want to emphasize how big the serving is, I’ll give you a 360 degree look.

The theme is supposed to be American but I think the diner has injected a bit of Filipino in the dishes as well. There is nothing fancy with the food, really. You taste what you see. I think what made the restaurant famous is the amount of serving that diners get for a very affordable price. And you know how much Flipinos value sulit stuff. The price range is from 100php-180php.

See how crowded it can get in there? We were supposed to have dinner at the place the night before but we were disheartened by the amount of people waiting outside. (Note: This was during the Holiday season) We went to Cafe by the Ruins instead. The next day, we decided to try again and went there for early lunch. I realized it was just the right thing to do. Heavy lunch is way better than heavy dinner. At least I get to lose the calories all throughout the day I need a lot of energy for a day of sight seeing!
