I have been doing undergraduate thesis renderings for two years now (see 2013 and 2014). Ever since I posted my undergrad thesis last 2012 and some sample works, I have received requests from students to help out with the visualization of (arguably) the most important design output of their undergrad years. Until a few months back, my thesis rendering commissions were limited to those from BS Architecture students here in Manila.
Most rendering projects are the same – I get the Sketchup model together with some pegs and instructions, I produce the visualization and submit before deadline, the work gets to be shown to the client (sometimes at the other side of the world), I receive the comments and revisions, I edit and submit again.
Hey, it isn’t as boring as it sounds. In fact, last week I got an exciting rendering project!!
So you have a design. Your vision on how you want to present it has a direction. You fairly know how to do your 3d model and you know how that render button works. What’s lacking? Maybe some extra oomph? Plus, added visualization and better execution wouldn’t hurt too. I think I know what you need!
I was contacted via this blog by some architecture students mid to late January to do some rendering enhancements for their undergraduate theses. February, after all, is the thesis defense month for most. Since PHOTOSHOP-ing photos to life is a favorite hobby, I happily agreed to the job.
