Allow me to share some of the photos I recently experimented with.

Who says hashtag-ootd has to be boring?

I extremely love the colors mint green, sea foam and coral. I used to think it’s just a phase, that I’ll get over it eventually but getting tired of  the said pastels is not happening anytime soon, or so it seems. I fell in love with the colors after seeing Kerti Pahk wear the wonderful combination look after look after look. I just love her – her photography, style, even white hair. Taking that (and her) into inspiration, I came up with the photos above. I can’t help it, I just want to surround myself with such lovely and fresh colors! Oh, my simple joys.

So I’m talking about colors now, huh? I know this isn’t the deepest or most useful thing I have posted but let’s take a break after a tiresome three-part rendering tutorial, shall we? Besides, I want to reach out to girls who visit the site for the fashion-related contents. (And yes, it’s a good excuse to use Photoshop for my usual vanity fix. Haha.) Good news is, I’m thinking of coming up with a tutorial on how to take self-portraits or how to edit pictures. What do you think?

Anyhow, just a little story, I took these photos a couple of weeks ago and reviewing them and sorting through them made me realize how long my hair has become. It’s as if the photos are telling me: Maricar, get a new look already! I curl my hair occasionally, if it ever curls at all –  it loosens up after an hour much to my dismay so you’d probably see me in wavy hair in most of my blog photos. For my everyday look, I just wear my long, thick and straight hair down, sometimes up in a bun. B-o-r-i-n-g. It finally led me to do something I should have done years ago – get a perm. Yes, you read that right. I finally did it and I’m so excited to blog about it!

P.S. I won’t end without saying a little something about my title (or else you’ll think I randomly picked up the framed canvas I use as a decor in my room and worked it in front of the camera as a prop, something I totally didn’t do.. or did I? Oops.)

ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS. It’s probably a no-brainer piece of advice but I’m sure a lot of people (including myself sometimes) forget about it. It’s so easy to look past the minute details in life because we are so blinded by all our big dreams, aspirations and even frustrations. Sometimes it wouldn’t hurt to appreciate the wonderful colors around,  to be grateful of the fact that I can converse with you through the cyper space and share my thoughts and ideas and to be ecstatic of a totally new hairdo. What little things are you enjoying today?  🙂
