Twenty Third 1.0

One of the things I DON’T look forward to at the start of every year is my birthday. I don’t want to sound emo but now that I am in my early twenties, I want to be forever stuck in the moment – or for bit longer, at least. So many things to do so little time. I feel one of the few perfect times to start building a name for myself and doing the things that make me happy is today and today seems to be gone as quickly as I can get things done. BUT I know, I know – Live the moment. Life is not a race. I’ll get there when I get there. *Repeat to self.

PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL: Adding Lights on a Vray Render

We all have that moment when we can’t seem to make things work and we have zero time to figure out why… because lurking around the corner is the deadline. Yikes!

I’m sure by this time of the year, a number of architectural thesis students are working day and night to finally finish the most important output of their academic life. I bet some are still figuring out how to make killer renders that can blow their jurors away. However, Vray can be stubborn and time-consuming to figure out — most especially the lighting. With that in mind (and also in response to a request I got months back), I have put up a tutorial showing you do not need those complicated Vray lights, Photoshop is here to the rescue – as usual!

Vray for SketchUp Tutorial: 360 Spherical Render

Last year (seems so long ago!), I mentioned I did some 360 spherical V-ray renders for BLOCK 7, an apartment building in New Zealand, in collaboration with a 3D Visualization team, Dee Dee Studio. You can read the full post here.

It was Sam, the graphic designer from Dee Dee Studio, who stitched and transformed each image into an interactive medium. I’m not sure what program was used though. However, if you are quite curious on how to achieve a 360 Spherical Render in Vray, here’s how I did it:

Hello, 2014!

Without hesitation, I’m going to declare 2013 as my greatest year so far!

The past year was filled with opportunities and blessings that I cannot thank God (and my lucky stars) enough for the many chances to prove my worth, enhance my talents and skills and make the people around me happy –  especially my family. What served as a big instrument for this successful year is this blog. It opened doors for me to be seen and recognized by some people across the world. It is exhilarating.

BLOCK 7 APARTMENTS: Vray for SketchUp Rendering

You know about my collaboration with a New Zealand – based 3D Vizualization team, Dee Dee Studio – I have previously written about it in this post.

Today, I want to show you my final renders for our first project together. I personally think this is a big leap from the initial images I showed since I had the time to choose better textures and improve some of the settings in Vray. Hope you think so too!
